Our Educational Programs have been expanded to meet Indiana State Academic Standards for K-12th grade. Please view our publication. Anyone interested in scheduling a program please feel free to contact the District.

Scholarship Applications

· Applicant must graduate from an accredited school program located in LaGrange County.

· Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited educational or training institution, in a program related to agriculture or natural resources conservation as intended major.

· Applicant may not be an immediate family member of an employee or board supervisor of the LaGrange County SWCD.

· Applicant must submit a completed application with a brief autobiography to explain why they should be awarded the scholarship.

· Applicants will be judged on GPA, extracurricular activities, references and autobiography.

· This scholarship will be available to recipient upon the successful completion of their first semester at a college, university or technical school. The SWCD will issue one check in the name of the recipient, following the receipt of a copy of grades or transcript. The scholarship may be applied to costs directly related to educational expenses such as books, tuition, housing, lab fees, etc. This scholarship is not renewable.

Summer Camp Registration

The Northeast Indiana Conservation Districts are offering three individual Conservation Day Camps this summer for your children to enjoy! Each camp costs $10 per child from ages 9-13. The camp is from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. with lunch and supplies provided.  

Tuesday June 20,2024 – ParGil Learning Center: 2335 N. State Rd. 9 LaGrange, Indiana

Tuesday, July 16, 2024 – Pokagon State Park: 450 Ln 100 Lake James Angola, Indiana

Tuesday, August 6, 2024 – Camp Whitley: 4305 W. Camp Whitley Rd Columbia City, Indiana

Deadline for Summer Camp registrations are due by the Wednesday a week before the day of camp.     

Northern Indiana Grazing Conference:

Thank you to everyone who attended the Northern Indiana Grazing Conference. We hope that this year's conference was wonderful experience for you, and we hope to see you January 31st and February 1st for the 2025 conference. Further details will follow.

Pasture Walks on Management :

The District holds Pasture Walks at intensive rotational grazing operations monthly, May-October, on the 2nd Thursday of each month.  the first walk will be on May 9th starting at 1-3pm. Jeremiah Lambright will be our host.
